III. Certificate Requirements

Students must choose a certificate program at the end of their Grade 9 year. In order to focus the efforts of students and enable them to plan for their futures, all students are encouraged to examine the career pathways available in each area of certification, including special cluster programs offered at each high school. The pathways are outlined below and described fully in the Program of Studies.

This certificate is a unique blend of core academics, job skill training, and work experience. Approval of the principal is required.

IV. MCAS

In addition, a student must also achieve proficiency in Math and ELA MCAS (240) as well as a 220 in Science. If a student received between a 220-238 in ELA and/or Math, they must be placed on an Educational Proficiency Plan (EPP).
